Educational Cliffs of Moher Cruise
THE Doolin Ferry Co. Est. 1970 with Bill O’Brien
In 2016 we introduced curriculum based learning via our ‘Learning the Landscape Educational Series’ of school tours for Primary, Second and Third level students. To celebrate and promote Seachtain na Gaeilge our island crew will host your school and give you a very informed and enjoyable cruise under the magical Cliffs Of Moher- all in Irish or English. See & learn how these magnificent cliffs were formed 450 million years ago! We’ll teach you about the Marine Environment and the Migrating Seabird Colonies that arrive every year to nest and feed their young. You will also get to see the cave featured in ‘Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince’!
“Our School Tour with St. John ‘s College of Inis Meáin to the Cliffs of Moher with The Doolin Ferry Company was one of the peak points of the academic year. We launched on an educational journey made of beauty and calming aspects to see nature in full swing. The sights were magical, teachers and students were both enthralled by the wonders of the Cliffs of Moher from the bottom. The crew was most obliging and it was clear that they were proud of this beautiful experience to share. Great School class trip!

Reserving your cruise
This tour will be at 12 noon, 3:00pm, or 5:15pm for 1 hour and is available during the school term up until summer. Pre-booking is required for this tour. It is best to arrive 15/20 minutes before departure. All school tours will be hosted by our master sea captain Liam O’Brien who will bring the group under the Cliffs of Moher and guide them ‘as Gaeilge’ or in English. There will be many opportunities to take photographs and to see (and hear) the migrating seabirds as they busy themselves building nests and feeding their young. Would you like to book? Just let us know the date and the number of students and teachers or reserve your School Tour or book online with us.
School tours ‘as Gaeilge’ need to be pre-booked. All departures are from Doolin Pier, Doolin, Co. Clare. Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to boarding. Tours may be cancelled due to weather but don’t worry, we will be in touch with you 24 – 48 hours before your trip if the weather is too bad. We will be delighted to reschedule your tour for another time.
